I can try. :P

It's the signed Grinch pic and also the photo she added of Jim with her granddaughter that she attached to her post on the FB page?

I remember seeing the photo. It must be in my archieve. I can share them in my instagram page for people to see but i don't know if it's appropriate to do this because it says that Jim didn't want this to be publicized. But i will definitely share something about Better U Foundation.

I was just about to post the exact same article.

It's mindblowing, isn't it?
This motherfucker really is trying to rake it in from all sides...

And I think we all know who paid her deposit and her $4,000 a month rent. If any money is returned, it would/should go to Jim.

Also, is there a way an admin can join this thread with the ':(' one? It makes it a bit tricky to keep up if there's two..

She said he didn't want the visit publicised at the time. It was many years ago now so I'm sure he'd be pleased to know how much he helped the family and what it meant to them. Also, I'm sure he'd be happy to inspire other acts of kindness.

Here's some words from Father Greg Boyle of the charity, Homeboy Industries, which Jim supports and has visited twice:

"Well that was extraordinary, I have to admit. I found that unlike anything that had ever happened. The homies can become goofy fans. Once we had T.I. In here and it was like “Oh man, this is a lot of work” so you kind of debate, should I tell them Jim Carrey’s coming at the morning meeting? So I said I’m gonna tell them, and then tell them, okay now behave, just don’t become crazy. I didn’t know him before other than I think he’s a comedic genius. And I watched him with the homies and thought, wow, he is so attentive. It was really holy. He walked in the room and he knew exactly the people who were the most wounded and the most damaged. And he did this twice with a couple of people, and he said to them “You’re a character, just like me.” And they were so touched by it. They just came alive, it was like water to a dry sponge. It really stayed with me for awhile, in fact I incorporate it sometimes in some of the talks I give, about the power of paying attention to people. Especially to those on the margins"

And it's not always about the grand gestures..
A few words to show you care can mean the world..

This is from the 'sightings' section:

Okay I didn't want to write anything, but after I saw that Spenceley (an extra I had the pleasure of working with) wrote in, I just had to. Well I also got to work as an extra on "The Majestic". On my second day I had to leave a scene in the Diner b/c I was feeling faint. About 20 minutes later when I was walking from where I had been resting I heard a voice ask me If I was feeling better. I looked up and it was Jim. I was a bit startled that he would be concerned with my well-being but after I got back to where the rest of the extras were, one told me that he had specifically asked about me and if I was doing alright. I answered him "Yes I'm feeling better thanks for your concern." After that my opinion on him changed drastically. Before I started doing the movie I didn't really think much of him, but now I know he is a good guy. A few weeks later I was doing a scene where a couple (another man and I) are purchasing tickets at the Majestic window from Jim. It was about 2AM and I was tired and I was displaying that tiredness by yawning. Jim looked at me and said "You should be in bed." I told him I had been at the set since 7Am that morning. He looked at me and was like "7? Wow." And also about a week later we were shooting scenes in Fort Bragg and in between scenes Jim walked by me and looked at me and said "Hey, what's up? How you've been?" So I had 3 nice encounters with him. Watching him get into character and work with his acting coach was really cool as well. In the ticket booth that night we did the ticket scene he was singing the 70's song "Black Betty" by Ram Jam. That was pretty funny. Working as an extra was a really great experience. I learned a lot but most of all I made some really great friends. It's an experience I'll never forget. It would be hard to.

"Sorry folks, I met him when I was seven (a LONG time ago *ahem*) and I doubt I'll ever meet him again! But, when I was but a wee lass my brother used to hang out with Jim. My father had recently passed away and I was NOT a happy kid. Jim used to make me laugh, no small task in those days! Even as a teenager, he worked his tush off just to get a laugh. Ever since I have watched his star rise and am very happy for him. Recent stories of his personal problems upset me... he's been my "Laugh Resort" since I was seven years old and I only hope that he can be happy too! Laugh and be loved because the World laughs and luvs ya Mr. Carrey!"

And this one I just love..

"Worked as day player on "The Truman Show" and as recurring extra. Met Jim on the street almost daily. Hi's and Bye's and what not. Very kind and extremely good natured, during the street scenes on numerous takes all of the buses, cars and police scooters (golf carts) had to go back to the original starting point for the shoot, so Jim was walking in between the carts back to his mark, when he casually drops his briefcase behind the rear wheel of one of the carts. As the cart rises and falls as it backs over Jim's briefcase he acts as though it was his foot being crushed by the cart. The driver and Peter Weir had heart attacks as Jim hopped around gripping his ankle in mock pain... very funny."

Not sure that can be done. The best we can do (I think) is close a topic and leave the other open.

Ah, right.
No worries. Maybe best just to leave them both open in that case, then? For anyone who wants to catch up on everything, there may be important info that gets lost if one's closed and falls off the radar.

Closing just means no one can post anything in it but whatever was already done is still there for anyone to see.
