Jim Carrey starrer "I Love You Phillip Morris" has been acquired for domestic distribution by Consolidated Pictures Group.

It was inevitable.

Reading about this studio in the news article, I'm surprised they're responsible for the promotion for two Oscar-winners and a hit musical.

Phillip Morris will be screening again overseas very soon, as part of the Directors Fortnight at Cannes. It's entirely possible that the film has undergone some tweaks since the Sundance premiere, and may be a little more comprehensible and audience-friendly this time around. They'll need it if this movie is ever going to find any level of success-- Carrey and McGregor are both recognizble names, but often enough when they've done something out of the ordinary (The Cable Guy, name half of what McGregor has done), audiences have ignored it entirely. Time will tell how this one turns out.
