Do u think that Lemony Snicketis insanely brilliant or just completley nuts?
i am asking this b/c i watched the Lemony Snicket's last night w/ the second commentary playing (director and the Real Lemony Snicket) and while i was listening he (Lemony) kept on going "O My Lord!" or "O Goodness no!" I mean is this just one convincing persona he protrays or is this how he really acts? I am part of an elite group of people......THE MEN OF JCO.

Good topic. That's a hard decision, I went with completely nuts. Are we talking about Jim or Lemony here, is that the question? I don't know, but I think it was 77% acting, and 23% Jim Carrey.
Sorry, I was thinking of Count Olaf. Lemony Snicket is brilliant, so disregard one vote. I don't remember that, I thought you meant the bonus features on the DVD, but I don't remember seeing the real Lemony Snicket.
Well, Billiantly speaking.....He may be brilliantly nuts or
Nutily Brilliant or Insanely Brilliant or Brilliantly Insane anyway you look at it By his shadow Lemony looks kinda goodlooking!
u don't see him u just hear him. to listen to the commentary u can go to set-up of special features and the commentary will play over the movie. I am part of an elite group of people......THE MEN OF JCO.

to answer my own question......i think he is brilliant b/c of how he writes his books. they are fiction books but he writes them as if they are non-fiction. which sometimes confuses me. But i also think he is nuts b/c when i listened to the commentary w/ him (at least i think its him) and the director he acts like he is depressed and has down syndrome at the same time. he keeps saying that "this movie is horrible" a lot during the course of the film.....not b/c the movie is bad but as to the reason why would anyone want to make a movie about the orphans' misfortune.......this just makes me question his own sanity. but thats what i think, plus the commentary is pretty funny.

But there is a word for what he is doing, you know on the back of his books he always says not to read the book, for example, " there is no reason to read any furthur " or, " your time might to better spend eating your vegetables " or half-way through " you can skip the rest of the book and imagine a happy ending." I like the way he teaches children vocabulary, its different. But you want to know the truth, there is a book written in the 30's that he nearly copies a few of his techniques from. (especially the vocabulary bit ) It was a good idea, because its a fasinating book.
that is one of the things i love about Lemony. is the vocab usage in his books. he will say something and then explain it. plus his humor is somewhat dark but funny to brake up what is happening in the story.

Here's a pic of the real Lemony Snicket:

Is Handler the one who plays Lemony..in the actual movie or someone else?
because I was watching a show on TV the other day and thought "Gee, that's the voice of Lemony". Who is the actor who plays lemony in the intro of the movie? Is it one and the same Daniel Handler?
I don't know. Well, its a different guy at the typewriter in the movie, so I'd say no....that the voice maybe isn't his, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know?
