I just watched the whole "making of" again, it seems that they were rehearsing the scene in which they hear their Lacuna, Inc "erasure" tapes for the first time and react. I think Jim got a little too into the process and overreacted. I think he was "in character" but the pain was real. He is so brilliant in this part, Gondry is insanely creative and Kaufman so surreal, I just can't get enough of this movie! Every time I watch it I see more in it, both visually and metaphorically. I fear I am becoming obsessed....cotton wrote:It is a great dvd. But I feel so sad for him in the interview when he says that he hates women and then starts crying.
Absolutely - that's what method acting is about, isn't it - harnessing the relevant emotions from your own experiences and bringing them to the character. His ability to do this is why the character of Joel was so staggeringly brilliant.carreyd away wrote:I think Jim got a little too into the process and overreacted.
