Creativity at Christmas

Postby Laura Laing » Sun Dec 11, 2005 2:47 am

When I was 15 we were on holiday in Florida, staying at a motel where we befriended some other vactioning families. Being from Canada, it felt rather odd spending Christmas on the beach. Without the snow it really didn't feel like Christmas as I knew it.

We decided to go hunting for a tree on Christmas eve day, and found the original Charlie Brown tree sitting in the abandoned tree lot.

Well, we brought it back to the beach, stuck it in a pail of sand and decorated it by stringing shells on it.

There was an older couple staying at the motel as well, I remember she was rather ill. When they saw us kids decorating the tree they joined in the festive spirit by supplying us with the pie plate to cut the angel out of.

I think we all really shared the spirit of Christmas that year.

Any other Creative Christmas stories???

One year, a secretary where my dad worked had let it be known somehow that she wasn't going to be able to afford many gifts for her children.

My father went to the store and got dolls and other toys, I wrapped them and very early Christmas morning, we dropped them at her door....rang the bell and then sped off.
