Yeah, well done Italy! Glad they banished their 'penalty shoot out' demons.
Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I'll have another coffee!

Me and my girls were watching the game, getting all hyped up, and when they won, wohoo, we were so excited! But the entire time, we didn't know it was the finals!
My daughter's friend calls her up immediately after the game, and my daughter says "What a great game! I wonder who they're going to play next?"
Her friend says, "No one. This was it. Italy won the world cup."
lol......and congrats to Zidane.........whatever was said didn´t stop him winning man of the tournament...........a fitting recognition of his achievements
I notice the voting for who won 'Man of the Tournament' took place at half time.....before he headbutted the Italian in the second half!

Wow!!!!!!!!!! Very funny!!!!!!!!
Filomena you are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way are you from Canada ??????????
Manuala, you asked me if I was from Canada. Yes, born and raised in Oakville, Ontario Canada, and then I moved to Burlington, Ontario in 2002.
But my parents are from Calabria, Italy, so I'm second generation Italian. Actually, we moved there when I was five, and I lived in Italy for almost a year. And then we moved back to Canada.
It's great being Italian. It makes for some very interesting and loud family gatherings.

Italy.....you have great looking men there too....lol
I have an Italian ancestor. His name was Antonio Alborelli. He moved to San Francisco in 1850, and he was an Italian apolster. I think that's spelled wrong, but he made Italian furniture. He married Esperanza Vargas. They lived at 911 Post St. in San Francisco. After the San Francisco fire, Esperanza lived alone in a hotel in San Francisco. And I don't know what happened to him. He is my only ancestor that left enough information behind, that I was able to trace his history, and that of his children.
I'm so proud! Ok, I forgot....first of all, 1850 was very early, because California changed from Mexico to the US in 1849. He may have been the first Italian immigrant in San Francisco. In the census, he was the only one of Italian descent listed in 1850 ( so he was at least the only one in business ). I went to try to find 911 Post Street last year, and I talked to a man who lives near there. 911 Post St no longer exists, in it's place is a patio and a brick street (without cars ) with a locked gate between two buildings. He told me that that area (which is close to downtown San Francisco ) was completely destroyed by the fire following the 1906 SF earthquake. I was always fascinated by the Italian history part of San Francisco , but I hadn't , previously to investigating it, suspected that my Italian ancestor ( I had his name ) was even from San Francisco, let alone the first Italian....according to the census.
Little would they know they were on the internet.....
Esperanza was in ostrich feathers...this is from the free sites, it's not the census, which says the date of immigration....
