Fig-leaf fashion
24 Feb 1998 If you watched the recent VH1 Fashion Awards, you’ve probably noticed Jim Carrey’s unusual choice of garment.
According to the Wireless Flash, Mr. Carrey’s outfit, which basically consisted of a felt fig leaf and nothing else, was designed by Phillip Bloch, a.k.a. "Stylist to the Stars".
Bloch, who also works with celebrities like John Travolta, Sandra Bullock and Jada Pinkett, keeps them updated on the latest fashion trends and counsels them on choosing all those cool and classy outfits.
Bloch stated that most of his clients are creative types that have great fashion sense to start with, which makes his job easier. Among these, the stylist pointed Jim Carrey, who Bloch says is always ready to take a fashion plunge, like the outrageous fig leaf outfit, which had to be carefully tailored to fit Carrey’s physique.
