Jim Carrey to star in "Bijou"?
29 Aug 2000 Variety seems to have just unveiled the long waited answer of what will be Jim Carrey's next project after "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas".
According to the newspaper, Carrey is in negotiations to star in "Bijou" (a.k.a. "The Majestic"), based on a script by Michael Sloane and to be directed by Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption). Castle Rock will produce and Warner Bros. will distribute.
The movie is a romantic comedy, set in 1951, about a young scribe facing the House Un-American Activities Committee blacklist who suffers a case of amnesia. When he stumbles into a small town, he is mistaken for the long-estranged son of the owner of a local movie theater.
