Other bigger-name spas are about to get into real estate. Miraval, in Arizona, where celebrities like Oprah Winfrey (she featured it on her "Favorite Things" holiday gift show last year) and Jim Carrey have been spotted, will start its first condo offering next month. Steve Case, the former chairman of AOL Time Warner, bought a 70 percent stake in the spa last year. Flush with cash, Miraval bought 200-plus more acres, bringing its total land to around 400 acres, and is constructing a new 42-room spa building. In January, it's planning to break ground on 30 one-bedroom units and 20 two-bedroom units ranging in price from $700,000 to $1.5 million. Each will have a meditation space and a private outdoor courtyard.
