I still think Jim should be the baseball player and
Jake the Devil
I think it would work better, that's just my opinion

I still hope this will come true, one day.

After all the cancelled projects and stuff : With 'Burt Wonderstone' and 'Kick-Ass 2' Jim made some very good choices in every possible way. I think they are going to be solid box-office-wise ánd both roles allow him to do something out of the box that's a bit different and surprising. With 'Dumb and Dumber To' (still think it's a hit or mis project) he will be able to go crazy like he did in the 90s ... Who doesn't want to see that?

So, after all that, it would be interesting to see him do another project that allows him to get the best out of him. I think 'Damn Yankees' could be it. Even if it's not a box-office hit ... who cares about that? All he has to do is make more good choices like he did with BW, KA2 and (maybe) D&D2. I have the feeling this is the best Carrey-year since 2004 or so.

It'll be great to see Jim Carrey in a musical. I wonder if he's preparing for it.
Like working on his singing and dancing. I've never seen him in a full musical. Mostly comedy and dramas.

Sincerely,

I'm afraid this is one of those projects that got away ... in a few years it will come by with a different cast and director, I guess.

I hope there's still hope on this one
Even if in next few years
This is a good one for good vs evil
Still want to see him as the good guy though on this

The role of the good guy is less interesting, the star in a story like this is -ofcours- the devil. And in a positive way. So, as an actor, it's by far the best role to get ... he wouldn't fit the good guy, btw. One reason : way too old. ;)

When they first came out with this idea
I looked up the old reviews and video spots on it,
just out of curiousity

The devil is a pretty old character but I don't
think Jim looks, That old!

in the original book "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant (1954)
Applegate trades for two months of vim and vigor
That doesn't sound to me like a young man, also he is married and during his "let's make a deal" successful time his wife is neglected.
Sounds to me like the character is older and married.

In the reviews The devil doesn't look like he's the main star.
(He was the one who played the sitcom about the martian & Bill Bixby)

Anyway the main star can be whoever you decide to write in to be the star, There are usually rewrites for a movie, aren't there?

The main character should be the player, but is baseball as relevant today as it was in the 50's. Today, I think the guy would be a game player but not baseball, perhaps a game player on the internet.

This is an addiction for a lot of men who started into this years ago and it just keeps hangin on. Eventually they get involved with betting, debt and looking back years later saying how`d this happen

Many are not married but neglect that part of their life and don`t look outside for anyone, but literally just stay in the internal box. Thinking they are safe, yet missing out on some of the best things in life.

Ulitmately serving the devil by just being typically complaicent and not doing anything but serving self. Not thinking or even seeing it as a conflict but a refuge. And that`s my opinion on it.. there ya go..

so we agree to disagree
have thought more about this one
Baseball use to be Americas top past time but now they say it is
football now
Could Jim play a football player
or we can go for basketball,
or beach volleyball
or there a few new sports that incorporate\
a lot of other games together
Ya, Jim would make a great devil buy
would not like to see the mayhem he could unravel
as a method actor

Morning,
I read on JCO that Jim Carrey is gonna do the musical "Damn Yankees". It'll be great to see him in a musical. I wonder if his taking singing and dancing lessons for the movie. I know the movie is in development.

Sincerely,

Terry Marvin (Dallas, Texas)
