According to several people filming (Fun With Dick & Jane) begins next week.

They are building a movie set for the movie "Fun with Dick and Jane" - A nieghborhood set. Littered with Sony Pictures Studios Trucks the set was quite large. The set is in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Thanks to Robert Cox for these details. 8)

FUN WITH DICK AND JAYNE, HOW DOES IT ALL sSTART?

Post by Canadian Jayne »

How does the making of this kind of movie start?
The location, scenery, etc will be all set up.
Do all the cast meet at once for an overview reading?
Or do certain people come at certain times,
do you have to always be there on set or do you come and
go when they need you, or as you please.
Is it a long tedious task? Or is it kinda fun?
What is it like??
JT you may know.
Please tell me.

the cast who aren't needed for filming on a certain day don't have to be there, and i can imagine they do rehearsals before they film, to see if there is anything that can be made better, as in, if anything suits them better.

i watch behind the scenes stuff waaaaaaaay too much, but hey, that's my career i'm lookin at so i got a reason, lol!

they only call in the actors needed for that day, and days can usually last from 12-16 to sometimes even 20 hours, its alot of fun but there's also a lot of down time because they set up the shots more than they film the shots. You don't sleep much either but that's what acting is all about right? ;)

I HEARD

I heard that sometimes the actresses knit, when they wait or have
downtime.

Hey Tommy,

is that graphic image of the title from the original movie, or the one they are using for the new Carrey version?

It is from the original movie.

Angie Harmon joins the movie. Here is a picture from Baywatch Nights:

I WAS JUST THINKING!

Post by Canadian Jayne »

It was mentioned that sometimes the day can be pretty long.
Do they get weekends off, do they work 5 days a week or do they
just keep going everyday until the movie is done?.
Do they get Sundays off??
Do they have the same employment standards as everyone else or
are things different.
I assume actors are on a contract basis. How does it work?

Normal filming takes place Monday-Friday but sometimes if it's needed, they will film on Saturday and Sunday if the budget allows.
Employment standards meaning what?
Actors are on a contract, extras are not.

Usual work days are 12 hours, but can sometimes run into the 16th and even 20th hour, it's alot of overtime but you can't sleep much in between.
