Jim back in "The Mask 2"?

The Mask is alive! According to Variety/ Reuters, Lance Khazei was asked by New Line to do the script for "The Mask 2".
The sequel has been in development hell for a few years now due to other directors rumored to be attatched to the project, the ever-changing plot and most importantly, if Jim Carrey will reprise his role as Stanley Ipkiss. There's still no news on whether or not the original cast will return either.
