The
acting is perfectly done as well. However, although newcomer Taylor
Momsen does a great job at playing Cindy Lou Who and the rest of
the cast gives equally memorable performances (most notably Jeffrey
Tambor's Mayor May Who and Christine Baranski's Martha May Whovier),
like all Jim Carrey films, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
is Carrey's work and Carrey's film alone.
Carrey
is larger than life as the Grinch. He is funny, touching, and positively
a blast to watch. Thanks to 2 and ½ hours of make-up he is
as cartoonish as ever, with his silly-putty face even more elastic-appearing.
