The film also divulges itself into how the Grinch's life is high above Whoville -- something the book doesn't go into great detail about. Although Carrey plays the Grinch's life on top of a mountain humorously, there is still the feeling of loneliness and the Grinch being outcasted that Suess never fully discussed. This gives the audience the feeling that the Grinch isn't a bad guy, as well as makes us see little Cindy Lou Who's perspective on how the Grinch is just misunderstood.

The sets on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" are perfect. The town of Whoville is cartoon-ish, colorful, and looks like a Seuss dream come true. It compliments the special effects done in make-up perfectly, and together they create the perfect Seuss world.
