Jim Carrey’s Sonic 4 Book Listings
26 Aug 2026 By Tommy Pihl (Editor-in-Chief)
There has not been much news from Paramount lately about the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4, which will once again feature Jim Carrey as the franchise’s unforgettable Dr. Robotnik. With the film now around 200 days away from release, however, some new listings may offer an early look at what is coming alongside the movie. Several Sonic the Hedgehog 4 tie-in books have appeared in publishing catalogues, including a 224-page Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Official Movie Novelization. While fans hoping for a book dedicated specifically to Robotnik will have to keep waiting, the novelization could potentially give Jim Carrey’s character a significant presence when it arrives.
The other listings appear to put a particular spotlight on Amy Rose, who is expected to be one of the major new additions to the upcoming film. The books currently listed include:
The book listings also give us a clearer idea of which characters may receive the most attention in the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 tie-in campaign. Amy Rose has two books connected directly to her, following her introduction at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. That certainly suggests she will be an important part of the new movie. According to the current listings, most of the books are scheduled for release on February 2, 2027. Two titles will arrive later, on March 19, 2027, alongside the theatrical release of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: the Untitled Amy Chapter Book and the Official Movie Novelization.
The release date of the novelization is particularly interesting. By waiting until the movie opens, the book is less likely to reveal major story details before fans have had the opportunity to see the film. There is still one thing missing from the listings that may interest Jim Carrey fans: there is currently no book focused specifically on Dr. Robotnik. Of course, that does not mean Robotnik will not appear in the tie-in material. The 224-page Official Movie Novelization could include the character and provide a more detailed version of his role in the story.
With Paramount remaining relatively quiet about Sonic the Hedgehog 4, these book listings are at least something new for fans to look at. The countdown to the film is now down to around 200 days, and hopefully more official news — including information about Jim Carrey and Dr. Robotnik — will follow before long.
