1999 MTV Movie Awards nominations
19 Apr 1999 MTV announced today the nominations for the "1999 MTV Movie Awards" and "The Truman Show" received a total of two nominations in the categories of Best Male, for Jim Carrey's performance as Truman Burbank, and Best Movie.
This year's nominees will be highlighted during the "MTV Movie Awards Nomination Special" hosted by Chris Connelly on April 20 at 4:30 PM (ET/PT). The winners will be announced at the "1999 MTV Movie Awards" which will be taped on June 5th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA. The awards ceremony will air on June 10th at 9:00 PM (ET/PT).
The nominations for the "1999 MTV Movie Awards" are chosen through a national poll of MTV viewers. The winners will be determined by MTV viewers, who can cast their votes via a special number 900 number that appears on air 4/21-5/18 and on MTV Online or at any participating Blockbuster Video location nationwide from 4/22 through 5/17.
Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet Productions will produce again the eighth annual "MTV Movie Awards" in association with MTV, while Salli Frattini is Executive Producer and Bruce Gowers Director.
