Jim Carrey (not) to appear at Tom Hanks' AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute
12 Jun 2002 Jim Carrey will be one of the stars appearing at Tom Hanks' AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute, scheduled to take place on June 12, 2002 in the Kodak Theatre. Director Steven Spielberg will present Hanks with the award. The program will air on USA Network on Monday, June 24, 2002 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
The tribute will also feature other friends and colleagues of the actor, including Tim Allen, Nora Ephron, Ron Howard, Helen Hunt, Jon Lovitz, Penny Marshall, Steve Martin, Meg Ryan, Gary Sinise, Charlize Theron, and more.
Editor's Note (6/13/2002): For unknown reasons Jim Carrey was in fact not present at yesterday's AFI Tribute event.
