RJ Cyler in Jim Carrey Showtime Pilot
06 Sep 2015

By Tommy Pihl (JCO Editor-In-Chief)

RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), has been cast in Showtime's comedy pilot "I'm Dying Up Here". He is the first regular cast in the hourlong pilot executive produced by Jim Carrey.

Based on the novel by William Knoedelseder, "I’m Dying Up Here" has been penned by former stand-up Dave Flebotte and is inspired by the Hollywood comedy club scene of the 1970’s. Jonathan Levine (50/50) is in the director’s chair for the pilot, which starts shooting later this year.

Cyler will play Adam, a struggling comedian willing to do anything — anything — to make it.
