"The Grinch" trailer review
13 May 2000

by BCDavis

I have seen it in all its glory. I now REALLY want to see this movie. My biggest shock was as to the amount of makeup Jim Carrey's face was buried. But I think it's a good thing in one respect: we can focus on the character, not on the actor. No, no, having Carrey play the Grinch is a real treat, and from what I've seen, it'll be an awesome performance - another where people can say, "I've seen the Grinch!" and not, "I've just seen Jim Carrey play the Grinch."

The other thing that got me with the trailer is to how creepy Carrey's Grinch gets! It's downright dark, and gets me to wondering if really little kids might get a tad frightened. If it is a bit dark, we have been forewarned: "You better watch out!" Too bad we have to wait until Thanksgiving…
