SNL (with Zellwegger)

Postby WesleyIsMe » Sun Apr 15, 2001 9:44 pm

Did anyone else watch SNl last night with Renne Zellwegger? She was hosting to rpomote her new movie, and so they had do a thing at the opening like she was reading from her real diary and one thing she reads is something like "October 20, 1999, I think I am falling in love with Jim Carrey.(looks at audience) Let's skip that one." The way she said it, and the fact that she'd even mention that seemed harsh. Did the two break up on bad terms or something?

I saw that, I thought it was rude!! I wonder why she's so bitter about the breakup, remember the Golden Globe awards? That seemed kinda rude too, I wonder how Jim feels about all that, he hasn't spoken since they seperated, I'm wondering what's going on in his mind

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T. Hmm... this SNL segment seems vaguely familiar. It's almost similar to that SNL episode where Rob Lowe was hosting (He decided to read aloud some parts from his journal, which he "left behind" when he first hosted the show).

I think it was hard (maybe hurtful) for Renee to say that. But you know how SNL is; they like to lampoon eveything, even with celebrity's lovelife. There was one episode where Ben Affleck was talking about his on and off relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow, who just so happen to be in the audience, and another episode where Jerry Seinfield says he's dating a married woman. Maybe it was just for fun.

But I have to agree that it is rude Btw, JT, what did Renee say at the Golden Globes? I didn't watch it.

Oy, I finally watched that clip... I just cringed at that line

*TaKe KaRe NoW |

| BuH ~ BYe THeN*

Edited by: SA JCFan at: 4/21/01 5:45:25 am

ARG! I was hoping she woulnd't sink that low. I guess, as far as low goes, one slight sentence isn't that low, but still.. I usually adore Rene, she's cute, but if she dissed Jim... ENEMY! I watched most of it, but missed the first ten minutes... I'm so glad I saw Bridget Jone's Diary before hearing that... I loved it, but I wouldn't have even gone if I'd a known that. Anyways, what thing at the Golden Globes? I watched and don't know what you're talking about.

Kelly

I still wanna see Bridget Jones's Diary cuz I like the book, and I still like Renee, kinda, but on the golden globes she said something to the effect of "I'd like to thank my manager for the BEST DATE in the world!" I thought that was kinda lame cuz she was probably trying to get back at Jim like saying his dates weren't fun, like in the magazines she would say life with Jim was "boringly wonderful" so maybe she was bored with him, I dunno. I wish Jim would just come on tv and say something, but I know he's not a rude man, I'm sure he would say something kind about her tho. Can't wait 'til Jim comes on tv again!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T. We all know how tabloids work, their lack of ethics and respect towards celebrities, and their right to privacy, so there's no big surprise when we find controversial and tasteless reporting/comments on a tabloid. What really puzzles me is when I read/hear direct comments from celebrities on their own lives, not even as a result from questioning from reporters. It puzzles me because it's so easy to avoid, I mean, all it really requires is... silence.

Mon

"I can't stay in one place for very long. The SNL thing bugged me a little bit, too - nice to know I'm not the only one. I kind of like Renee, and I don't really think what she said was terrible (she didn't actually insult him or anything & it was just meant to be funny, I think); I just don't think it should've been said. I'm not even really sure exactly why I feel this way, but for some reason it seems inappropriate (I guess that's the word I'm looking for ) that the subject of her relationship with Jim even came up at all.

I can only assume that SNL BEGGED Renée to make comments about Jim. I have read quite a few interviews with her recently (Bridget Jones overkill here, you know) and she always refuses to talk about him...so I'm as puzzled as anyone .

Chrissie

I have to say that I never had a problem with her while they were dating. They seemed really happy together and that made me feel good for Jim.

However, I do not agree with what she did on SNL. Even if the writers at SNL told her to do it, she could have easily said that it made her uncomfortable or something along those lines...But she obviously didn't if she went along with it.

The break up between them seemed out of the blue to begin with so maybe it did break off on bad terms...I don't know. All I do know is that it seemed uncalled for that she bring the seperation up. Even in a joking manner.

I know that most people can take a good joke...blah blah blah..but this seems alittle different. Maybe I am only feeling this way because it was directed at Jim. Maybe I *would* have found it funny if it had been dealing with someone else...I don't know.

But it just came off seeming more rude then it did funny, I guess...

Oh well, Jim will be back and better then ever when the dust settles!! However, I do miss seeing him around...

Come back to us Jim!!!!

Love & humor,
Marissa
[link=www.angelfire.com/ms2/jimcarreyrocks]Jim Carrey Is My Inspiration![/link]
Jim Carrey Is My Inspiration!

I have not seen the Renee comments on TV. I'm sure the SNL skit was just that... A Skit. I'm a huge fan of SNL and they only poke fun at all the best. Casting Renee brought SNL an outlet to Pub Jim Carrey! Jim Carrey = phat ratings I'd think. Jim Carrey is a house hold name. I'm sure Jim has moved on and on with his life. Why would Jim comment appears to have more class, don't you think? If he has to comment one day, for his own self gratification. I'd like to check it... But on a "stand up" tour. That way, you still just never know... It's Not our Business People.... As far as Renee thanking to management.... I would thank ... with class the person that hooked me up with a little Jim Carrey time... Peace....
