Have you seen the behind-the-scenes footage of The Grinch on ET and on Premiere? What did you think of it?

Monica

I only saw the 2nd clip on how Max the Dog was casted. All those scenes were great, but I feel they're giving away a bit too much from the movie. I know they're only minor spoilers... Still, I won't let that stop me from watching it

Btw, just saw the MTV VMA for the umpteenth and noticed that Jim is nearly the talk of the show (i.e. The Wayans thought Jim was crazy after watching Rage Against The Machine bass player swaying above the podium , Pink [with Moby] saying she'd vote Jim for president , and Mark Wahlberg mentioning about Jim plugging "The Grinch" [then proceeded to sorta diss him cuz of "The Perfect Storm"'s successful grossing].
~^*TaKe KaRe NoW | BuH~BYe THeN*^~

Yeah, I agree that there is a spoiler factor on those clips and on the second trailer as well (maybe I'm mistaken, but it seems that there's even a couple shots from the end scenes), but having a peek at that huge "machine" that Universal and Imagine put in motion for this movie is too exciting to pass on.

It appears from the second clip that there isn't one "Max" but several. I guess they couldn't find such a well-rounded canine actor as Milo (whose real name was, as you all probably know, Max).

But I also think that the footage shown doesn't really faithfully depict how Jim Carrey played the Grinch, although it gives a few very interesting hints at the approach used. I specially enjoyed the scene where the Grinch is sleeping and unconsciously starts singing the Xmas songs along with the Whos. There's also a very brief but enlightening shot in the first Premiere clip showing Whoville's post office with all the residents' mailboxes filled with postcards/gifts and the Grinch's with nothing but spider webs.

About the vmas, I thought Mark Wahlberg's comment was rather ungraceful and fell flat. But he isn't really known for his sense of humor is he?
