Jim, the Singer

Postby Jimaholic » Sat Sep 29, 2001 7:37 am

Hey, I didn't know if this subject should be in 'Past Movies'-section, but I didn't find any other place to put this in, so...

I was just listening to MOTM soundtrack and I totally LOVE Jim singing 'This Friendly World' with R.E.M. What do you think of that? I think he has such a great voice.
And hav you guys heard Jim singing 'I am the Walrus'? I downloaded it from Napster and it was so great! You should try

Yep... He's a great singer. Especially in Man on the Moon... It's great to hear him sing 'cause he has a wonderful voice... Too bad he doesn't sing much in his movies...
I also like the Grinch soundtrack. On that one he sings and he's just great! It's like six different people are singing, and it is just Jim...
I only wish he would sing more... Maybe even bring out an own CD, but I guess that's not possible in combination with soundtracks or something...

I think his singing has a Freddy Mercury level. In the meaning of very good in getting ALLL the high and low uhm.. notes. Tones. Pitches. Whatever. He pulls it off. Great great singer.

failure isn't failure unless you give up -Jim Carrey
visit my site!soiledmypants.com

Funny

Postby The Weird Dutch Girl Sven » Thu Oct 04, 2001 4:35 am

Funny you say that Claartje... Not only you're right... (He just is a great singer... Really high level) But when i first watched Me, Myself and Irene, and they went to the flashback (Back to the eighties, Charlie still married and all Rhode Island Troopers with a mustache...) I couldn't help thinking there was a similarity with Freddy Mercury... I think Jim Carrey can look an awful lot like him... Maybe something for a future movie?
(In that case this discussion should be moved to an other section of this messageboeard )

Sing, man! SING!

Postby Truwoman » Sat Oct 06, 2001 1:30 am

I have died and gone to heaven...
Ok, well, I'm close!
PEOPLE ARE AGREEING WITH ME!
More than that THEY'VE HEARD HIM!
Not only can he sing he wrote a Beautiful song, which is on that cd that you might think has nothing to do with him in the links/urls section. I think...
Tuck and Pattie?
I cant remember....
Man, I'd DIE if he ever did Jesus Christ Superstar.
At least more than 10 seconds anyway.
He did it at the MTV music awards a year ago, I think.
He said he didnt even know what he was doing there. He didnt belong in music.
Then he suddenly broke into song.
Then "unhindged" his jaw for the last note.
Ahhhh, so pretty.
Hope that's in the clips section sometime.

Thanks for reminding me to add that clip to the videos section, Truwoman. It's already there at the Misc. Video Clips gallery.

There would be plenty of opportunity for belting out some songs if they went on with The Secret Lives of Walter Mitty... doesn't seem like it's going to happen, though...

Mon
"The 'darker' side of comedy is a redundant statement."-Jim Carrey
