Eternal Sunshine, Jim's best/worst?

Postby billgbg » Tue Nov 30, 2004 2:49 am

I wonder if there is any consensus on this question. People tell me that Jim's fans consider ESOTSM to be less enjoyable than his other films. Is that true? I ask because it's not a usual film like perhaps, the Mask, or similar.
If I have a favorite Jim Carrey film, it's this one.

I think ESOTSM is my absolute favorite Jim Carrey movie. I've always been a huge fan of his more comedic roles, but this film has such a wonderful script, and Jim and Kate are both fantastic in it.

Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind is just sooo gooooooooood!! It's like one of his best in my opinion~ I love all his other comedic roles as well. Charlie Kauffman writes the most complicated yet very interesting scripts ;D

I love both Jim and Kate's performances as well!

you have to be 18 or older to see it in the U.S. in theaters. goes for any R movie in theaters. If it's on DVD, you have to have money to take it home and watch it.

I don't like this movie very much. Some funny scenes but only a few.

Well, it's not supposed to be a laugh-out-loud comedy is it?

Eternal Sunshine is a beautiful, sweet and original film. Jim Carrey plays against-type brilliantly and shows, once again, that he is not just a human cartoon but also a great actor.

Maybe you don't like Jim when he's serious? And you probably prefer him when he's Ace rather than Joel?

Yes, maybe  . But he was also serious in "Man on the moon" but nevertheless I like this movie. I don't like "The Majestic" and "Eternal Sunshine" very much but Majestic a little bit better than Eternal Sunshine because it is not so depressive and wired.

In Sweden you have to be 15 if there is a lot of action in a movie.. But you don't have to be older to see a movie if there is sex in it...
To see Troy you had to be 15 but I think that The Lord of the Rings has mopre action... and you just have to be 11 to see it.. Well Back to topic.

It's worst in Germany. If you know any game or movie where is a little bit blood it is censored, cut, or forbidden, here. But sexual content is not the problem, there are even many shows and movies in Germany where are jokes about gay people are made (not in a bad sense). I heard that some of these movies didn't get it to America because they don't want this stuff. But don't worry, most of these movies are crap, the shows are partly very funny.
By the way: I went today to the shop because it was said that there should be a "great Nintendo promotion". But in reality there was nearly nothing. But I dind't go with empty hands because a lucky coincidence occourred: I just saw Eternal Sunshine in a shelf and bought it. Tomorrow or saturday I will watch it another time and perhaps I change my opinion.
