Re: Weathering the Weather-Heat Hazard

Postby Canadian Jayne » Mon Jul 25, 2011 2:35 am

We're are now just starting to get some
relief from horridly hot humid days
the rain has started but severe wind warnings
are coming with it
but at least there is some break from the breaking temperatures
that have been here in Eastern North America
for the past few weeks

Really hot here also.
It's a
"heat wave" 8)
I'm surprised they've never done a disaster movie about
a heat wave
that I know of,
Anyone know of one?

Re: Weathering the Weather-1940's comparison

Postby Canadian Jayne » Sat Aug 06, 2011 9:12 pm

The weather seems to have a similar temp in camparison to
the 40's weather.
It's still a little cooler than it was back then.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the atomic meltdown in
Japan since the Atom Bomb occurred in the 40's
and they say the meltdown in Japan does affect it's surroundings
and is worse than they thought.

Could this disaster have an affect on our world weather?
I wonder. :-k

In the scriptures it talks about the Abomination of Desolation
Could this be it?
I still wonder :?:

We had some good thunder clapping going on today in our city.
Hydro went off while I was at an indoor pool, so we had to wait
until the lights came back on
meanwhile at a friends' neighbours place
sparks were flying
wow, how scary is that

the story reminded me of when I was in New York State
near Canandaigua
and my children and I saw a chimney hit by lightening

Anyone else have some scary lightening striking stories

I was in Sorento when i was a little kid when the city was hit by a really fierce lightening storm....my dad thought it might be fun to go to the roof of the hotel to watch the muticoloured zig -zags (They were really really fierce)......except not only were we standing on the tallest building in the area but we were standing next to a metal flag pole......lol.........it was only much later when i think we realised we'd been very lucky......
I Confess i adore lightening storms though.........it's like nations passions at their wildest......... :D

I love watching the lightening too,
it's like you're own personal light show
and everyone sees it differently
it all depends on your location

The sun was really red last night
as it went down

We seem to be getting tornado warnings on a monthly basis.
Wasn't there a time when there was a break from these
catastrophe's?

I saw a shooting star tonight, about 10:00
I wonder if anyone else saw it

One person walking while I rode my bike past
saw it too.

When was the last time you saw a shooting star?
