I would love it if there was a sequel, but I'm worried that Jim won't return. But if he does, I really hope that they stick with the books as close as possible.

I put No just cuz....Why?? He probably wouldn't do it cuz he doesn't do sequals so they'd probably just get some cheap knock-off to do it. And we kno how that usually goes. :olaf:

Seriously, why was the thread locked in the Upcoming Movies section? The discussion belongs there instead of here because it's a rumored 'Upcoming Movie'. I never thought of going in this section until I saw it in google news. I just figured it was people talking about the first one. So I imagine a lot of guests don't know about the news also.

I agree with Dan. It's upcoming (rumor or not), so it should be talked about overthere.

(Hey, I'm new! lol)

Yes, Jim said he would do it. It's on Wikipedia:

Jim Carrey was attracted to the film because he found it to be a good recurring franchise character that would still allow him each time to dive into a new role. "I don't have a deal for a sequel, but it's one that I wouldn't mind doing again because there are so many characters," the actor explained in December 2004. "I mean, it's just so much fun. It's so much fun being a bad actor playing a character..."

Thanks!^^

EDIT:

Hey! I'm here with more information as I'm one of the "spokeswomen" of Snicket Sequel Society, and I'm writing to you cause we're trying to gather all the Lemony Snicket fans:

You all know that Silberling is preparing a sequel but there's a problem (it's not sure but...), Silberling hopes to make it animated, like in slow-motion. Sooo we have to stop him. He can't start a movie with live-action and then continue it animated, it just doesn't make sense.

Evidently, now that Snicket is the scriptwriter, the movie will be much more faithful to the books and darker, so we want them to use Jim, Liam and Emily again. I know, I know… Liam is 19 and Emily 20, so what? They never look their age, they still look like teenagers! So why not throw an age change into the mix? I mean, making Violet and Klaus older. And no problem for Jim cause he said he'd only make a sequel for Olaf.

So, we've created the SnicketSequelSociety and we're creating a website which will have forums, the petition sites, a letter to Mr.Handler, and so much more.

So if you really want Jim to be Olaf again... what are you waiting for?
You can start signing these two petitions, our goal is to get 20,000 signs.

http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/ ... cgi?asoue2
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/ ... i?LSASOUE2

We'll send it to Handler, Silberling and Paramount Pictures.
If you're interested in this project, just let me know and I'll inform you when the site is finished (this week, sure)

I'm sorry for writing so much!
If you have any doubts, suggestions or ideas... just let me know!

Not really, with the way the film ended it feels like it doesn't need a sequel to me.
