As I was recently reading in a book....

Postby Canadian Jayne » Sat May 31, 2008 4:12 am

after a big bomb explosion there is usually a big storm within days.
I read it in the book about Hiroshema.
I did not know that.

Big disaster back home,
Century Old College was destroyed, very, very sad thing...
It was like an Icon, they could see the flames all the way to London, Ont.
I love Old Building and the history they share, why do people think more about demolition instead of restoration.
Even God restores things.

It was said after the Hiroshema, everything started to grow twice as fast.
I thought that was odd too., it may have been due to the over exposure to light.

Realistically though, would they tell us if there was something on a
collision course, I doubt it, would they be able to track it, maybe.
I doubt if they would panic or allow mayhem or ,but I do believe it
is a good idea to be prepared, there has been alot of media, gov't info on how to prepare for a disaster. No one knows what effects such an incident would have, if the moon influences our planet perhaps things going past it would also, I say be prepared if you can, that's really all we can do.
If it doesn't happen, your not out anything except a little money for preparatory storage or backpack. If it does, you have a better rate for survival to ensure the safety of your family and others.
I think it is good for families to get together and role play, not just disasters, but fire escapes, home invasions, emergency situations (tornado, flooding
and what kids and people can do when separated)
etc be as ready as you can be.
People panic without preparation. Also I think they should learn from current disasters eg. What to do: What not to do: Keep it simple.
They must have learned alot from New Orleans re Personal Record Keeping precautions, effects of exposure, housing difficulties etc.

No he wouldn't know what would happen, but maybe gov't have done something and don't want to tell us, who knows, it's only speculation.
I believe the Scouts have it right...
just "Be Prepared" I think some of these survival shows should teach as well as entertain. If it happens, perhaps we'll have a better idea of how to cope.
I wish we could do a poll on 911 and what people felt.
A poll for everyone in the US and Canada. Some people just stopped, all I'm sure were in shock, we all reacted differently. If we had been more prepared would peoples lives have changed in a different way? I wonder! :-k

Shortly after I posted about the Scouts and being prepared..

Postby Canadian Jayne » Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:34 am

There happened to be a touch down of tornadoes in Ohio (I think)on a Scout Camp.
How ironic, what I don't understand is that the boys were camped in a valley, but if a tornado hits in a valley doesn't it usually continue in the course of the valley, instead of lifting and going somewhere else, isn't the base funnel of a tornado like a rolling marble, follows the course of least resistance. Camping in the valley just does not seem like a good idea to me.

I don't think it's so much that the earth is building up...

Postby Canadian Jayne » Tue Jun 17, 2008 6:43 am

something but that the earth is subject to the natural laws that it is confined to and if you mess with those laws, eg (ozone etc.) you mess with nature.
remember that commercial..
"You don't mess with mother nature" somehow I think it's true
Men have been in control and they tend to do first, think later then say
"Oooops that was really stupid" but then everyone else in the wake has to reep the reprocussions of that decision.
eg. Taking phonics out of the education or prayer out of the school system..
Phonics is now back in the system and those students who never had the phonics system suffered from it, thankfully my mom never listened to what
other said, if it sounded absolutely rediculous she didn't buy it and did what she felt was right, I've adopted that also. If it sounds stupid, don't do it,
go with your gut instinct. I hope people eventually get to that point, we have the net now and can voice our opinion any time any where.
