They have been doing camera tests at Steiner Studios at the Brooklyn Navy Yard the last week in September. Today they began with principle photography.

I think its good to see him in a new movie again.

I'm really excited about this film, it is going to be great!
I was watching a little of Ace Ventura Pet Detective and when
all the animals come out of hiding, some penguins come out too.
So he has been around Penguins b4, :ace:

I noticed there's a lot of negative buzz around this project already ... everywhere. It always comes down to these two arguments.

- A Jim Carrey version of Mr. Popper just ain't right.
- This book is a very charming one, Hollywood will kill all that with CGI, choice of actors and putting the story in present day.

I don't know the book at all, but I kinda had the feeling this would happen. I hope this movie will suprise every single one of us.

I've ordered the book so I'll have to read it first.
But Jim doesn't usually do anything half heartedly
He goes for the gold
Never underestimate the possibilities of Jim Carrey
He's always full of surprises
Don't you think?

well, he is, but he tries too hard to be over the top, that it comes out badly. "I can do it better." thing is just old and overdone. I hope he keeps surprising us though.

I'm sure of that,
life is always changing,
so are all of us,
new challenges, new changes,
It's almost New Year's, ring out the old
ring in the new
Change is Gooooood(the way Jim says it)

Since this is the era of the Baby Boomers having grand children,
I hope they show some of movie from the eyes of the little penguins
Grandparents and children may see this movie together
and little people can relate to little animals if you view from
their eye level view(hope I'm getting across what I mean)

When I teach in the pool, I'm at the level of the children, they see
me one on one, not having to look up and see this big tall person.
It's better at the same level when communicating to wee ones.

Wouldn't it be similar with little animals too?

I now have the book and I've finished the first chapter.

It will be interesting how it is going to be done to fit this era
since this book was written in the 1930's when economic hard
times were prevalent-----hey----

sounds like today

It talks about eating beans today we'd probably eat
hmmmm what's cheap to eat today

Rice? Kraft Dinner?
What is your cheapest meal you've ever had???
Bread and water???
Any ideas?

I did an experiment-- which I often do...
There was an animal aid commercial on TV and I wondered if
the resident cat would understand or recognize the animals in need.

The cat was behind my head sleeping so I woke him up
and pointed to the TV, he didn't follow but he followed me as I
walked up to the TV. He started watching and stayed glued to the TV
until the commercial ended.

He seemed content and happy that he was saved from an animal
shelter himself. Everyone here loves the cats, they are showered
with alot of attention. I'm allergic to them but I still like them.

I think animals must feel something.

OMG YES!! :D
:D i'm so totally in love with nature and animals i could spend my whole life just observing their quirks and characters.....and if there's one thing i don't doubt is that animals feel.......just looking at their faces and their eyes reveals so much ... :D
which is why in my job i always use animals/pets as an example of things we need to show kindness too.......the kids might hurt each other but god help them if they hurt a defenceless creature and i get wind of it..........lol...........
