i beleive any Jim Carrey fan should think that Ace Ventura is the best movie he has done.
Simply put, it made him a star. Yes Yes i know that In Living colour got his name out there but he was always masked by the wayans brothers. Ace 1&2 were simply Jim and nothing But. there he was the star it was his movie, and no one can take that away from him.

I alsow think that Ace is the best...the improvisation, the faces, the voices and the backgroundstory! It is Jim's big show!
If i have to give points to the movies it's this:
"Ace Ventura PD 10/10" "Ace Ventura WNC 10/10" "The Truman show 10/10" "The Grinch 8/10" "Me, myself & Irene 6/10" "The Mask 6/10" "The Cable guy 9/10" "Liar Liar 9/10" "Dumb & dumber 8/10" "Batman Forever 6/10" Man on the moon i haven't seen yet!

I have to confess I could not stand Jim's freaky performances in Ace or I couldnt stand Fire Marshall Bill, I remember watching him sayin 'who is that weirdo' and 'whata moron', 'what kinda idiot talks out of his ass??' ...my buddy Mikey was a big fan @ this time.
when i heard he was going to do something dramatic then I gave him a chance, well i didnt see Truman Show til recently on tape and totally fell in love with him. He is a BRILLIANT actor. I saw 'MM&I' and then I really began to appreciate his weirdness; the scenes he's fighting his two personas is brilliant, he made it look like he was really two people.
So I've seen MM&I, Truman, Man on the Moon(BRILLIANT!!!), I have seen Ace2~i do remember enjoying it,Cable Guy(freaky but also sad), Liar Liar,Mask, and becasue of his incredible performance, I've seen Grinch 5x and Im a total Grinch freak too!! I love ALL FORMS of grinchy, esp. Jim's realistic Grinchy.

So Jim's up there with my total favorite actors like Chris Lloyd. It took awhile for me to wake up and smell the Carrey, but I did and I love his work! I hope one day to meet this genius!
I drive a bus maybe I'll get lucky and he'll charter my bus out and go cruising in Hollywood and freak out people hahahahaaaa!!!

Indeed

Yeah, Ace Ventura is good. It is a great movie, but I believe that his performance in Man on the Moon is by far the best. He plays Andy brilliantly, and was so touching that I found myself even crying in some scenes. For me, I think that MOTM is the best then, Batman Forever. He stole the show as the Riddler and I couldn't stop laughing with him as the Riddler (the punching scene is BY FAR the best). I am yet to see the grinch, MM&I and the Truman show tho. Can't wait to see them ^^ Hey, anyone know where there is a script or detailed, step by step synopsis of MM&I? I won't be seeing this movie for a while due to my distance from a video store, and I BADLY wanna read a script or detailed synopsis or something.

Hmmm, funny that. I was brushing my teeth this morning and thought of how in some scenes of "...the Grinch" it's like Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman as Tony Clifton doing the Grinch. You gotta love it!I have all my best ideas while brushing my teeth.
~Chrissie

Chrissie, I just couldn´t stop laughing at your last comment! !!! It´s so funny that people tend to have their best ideas when doing the most simple things. You know, I have my best ideas when I wake up in the middle of the night, like how to fix the washing machine all by myself, and then I do it, still kind of sleepy, and it works! I also often formulate important letters or even poems in the middle of the night, and the result is sometimes incredible. But brushing your teeth, that´s really over the top! I have these Carrey moments (thinking about what he did or could do) very often, but mostly when I play with my cats...their fun and joy probably remind me of him ....!

That is not true Jim is comedy legend and always was recognized for his facial stand-up comedy and is always great in each movie he . Sure people liked Ace Ventura 1&2 but I can tell you something they also like every other movie he's ever done. My favorite is ... let me see I don't have one because I liked them all.

First: No, it's not such a good movie... it's even better!
Well, just wanted to add to learyjob's post, that you could also buy the video on amazon.de, I've already bought the English version from there, and in May the German version will be released on video. - Hmm, but I think you speak French in Belgium, don't you?

And to anyone who thinks about buying the movie script: Do it, it's great!

BUY IT! BUY IT! BUY IT!

The MotM DVD features quite a few deleted scenes which are obviously still contained in the original screenplay (which incidentally you can also buy from Amazon ).

Fortunately, despite deleted scenes, MOTM still makes for a smooth cinematic experience...unlike other movies that have been subjected to over-enthusiastic editing .

Enjoy, Chrissie
...now where's that Amazon voucher...

PS. Have been away for a bit and am going on vacation today. Missing you already!

Inliving color introduced me to Jim. I remember when I was little, me and my brother would sit and watch that show, sometimes not even understanding half the jokes, but when the image of Jim in the Gold Bikini dressed as a Excersize woman always brought laughter.

I became a total fan when I seen Ace Ventura (1). I love the movie, and still to this day do. After that movie, I was hooked, then came the Mask (which I loved at an early age,....but not so much anymore..it's kinda...too cartoonie) but to me, the BEST film is Liar Liar... I laugh at EVERY SINGLE JOKE EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch it. He's a comic genius...

But, here's my points like the previous person did with Jim's movies...

"Ace Ventura PD 10/10"

"Ace Ventura WNC 8/10" (sequels r never better than the original!)

"The Truman show 9/10"

"The Grinch 8/10"

"Me, myself & Irene 8/10" (come one people...Jim Carrey classic)

"The Mask 6/10"

"The Cable guy 8/10" (even tho many people don't really consider this a Carrey movie. I loved it, it maybe wasn't as funny as the others, but I think it was really terrific plot..)

"Liar Liar 10/10"
"Dumb & dumber 8/10"

"Batman Forever 6/10"

"Man on the Moon 9/10" (his performance Blew me away!)

-Ciara
"For a comedian, insanity isn't a problem, it's a goal." ~ Jim Carrey
