With only 9 months until the release, some sort of trailer or teaser should be released at any time now. Disney's, The Princess and the Frog already has one and it's being released a month after A Christmas Carol.

Is it supposed to be animated like The Polar Express was where they took Tom Hanks's features and put them in cartoon form?

Yeah, but It's going to be more like what they did with Beowulf (more realistic, not really cartoony).

Hm. That's not completely right, Dan. The face and style we saw lately is far more cartoony then anything that was in 'Polar', but it looks more real now if you put it next to the motion capture some years ago.

Thanks. I've seen some of Beowolf and the first time I saw the trailer I didn't even notice it was animated. They did a really great job with it.

Well from comparing the pic we have so far with A Christmas Carol, it looks a lot less cartoony than The Polar Express, and more like Beowulf (as for realism). Carrey almost looks real, and reminds me of count olaf kinda.

But all 3 movies were/are going for realism.

Ow, now I see what you mean. We were both using the word in a different context. ;) Yes, I agree with you, it seems like the latest 'Carol' looks more real, no doubt. It's good it's more detailed, cause I couldn't care about 'Beowulf' because they were not able to bring the characters alive. The eyes were empty. The emotions not that strong.

But I was talking about the style, that's far more cartoonish than 'Polar' or 'Beowulf'. They tried to capture Tom Hanks as he is, also Beowulf is the most realistic result they ever did. But for 'Carol', the giant nose, the chin, I love that more cartoony style. you see? :)

That's what I love about Pixar. Dreamworks, Blue Sky, you name them ... they all tried to make the characters as real as possible. And failed when you put them next to Pixar. Pixar is using a less realistic style ('The Incredibles', 'Ratatouille') and still manage to make those characters real and alive. I hope they can pull that of with 'Carol', caust that's one of the biggest problems with 'motion capture', trying to make it look very realistic, while it could work much better if they do it like that, with the giant nose ... and stuff. A good feeling about that, I have.

I hope they can pull off getting the cartoon style of Pixar and not go quite as far as Beowolf as far as realism goes. :D

Haha I get what you mean.

If they can make the movie look like that pic of Carrey as Scrooge, I'll be very happy.
