In addition to the Music in the Movies panel, NSC will also feature an advanced screening of the film “I Love You Phillip Morris” starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, based on the non-fiction book by Steve McVicker, written and directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (“Bad Santa”). Buzz surrounding the film has been building since this year’s Sundance Film Festival. In addition to Sundance, the movie will be shown at Cannes, making this only the third screening of the film.

The screening will take place on Friday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m. at the Belcourt Theatre. McVicker, Requa, and Ficarra will be joined by producer Far Shariat for the panel “Adapting a Non-fiction Book” during the conference. (Note: this film is rated “R”)

I just want to say that people should take note at it's rated 'R', that it might not be anyone cutting someone's head open or eating their brains...but it's an ADULT movie. I hope those who see it will understand that. :D I am sure by 2010 I'll be able to go to see it.

Some people on Twitter attended the conference and saw the Phillip Morris screening. Looks like they thought it was good. :)
