Awesome. This is good news. So it's going to be played in LA on April 25th and Cannes too? Nice!

This should help it a lot.

If that actually is the case, it's very good news indeed. Cannes is big and important for all sorts of movies. Pixar's "UP" (looks great again) is opening the festival this year. I don't know what the effect is for the USA, but if it shows in Cannes, it will sure get a distrubutor for most European countries. And if it's not released yet by then, there's a huge chance it will show on the filmfestival in Ghent (Belgium) also, this fall. A few years ago 'Eternal Sunshine' was there also and it won the public-choice price.

Finally, some good news. :)

What's the source, fluffy?

I hope that article is right and gave us a scoop. :)

Since the official announcement of this year's lineup is on April 23. (It's the number! I know, that's old) What's for sure? INGLORIOUS BASTERDS (Tarantino) and UP (Pixar).

What Hollywood-stuff has a very good chance? TAKING WOODSTOCK (Ang Lee), BAD LIEUTENANT (Nicolas Cage), TETRO (Francis Ford Coppola), THE IMAGINORIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS (Terry Gilliam with Heath Legers final role), DRAG ME TO HELL (Sam Raimi)

I guess we'll know it for sure on April 23.

YES!!!

This should be the next step in finding a good distributor for the US release! I hope there will be some American critics invited to see it!

Don't worry, there will be a lot of critic reviews once it goes through the LA Screening and Cannes. :D

If it's received in a positive way (critics are always a bit harder for movies showing at Cannes), it's a go! That's for sure. :) (I hope)

Hopefully it will be taken in a more liberal light .........Besson will be on home ground so he'll have his influence there............ :D

The festival line-up was announced today, but unfortunately "I Love You Phillip Morris" wasn't mentioned. I guees that means the news is not true, so no Phillip Morris at Cannes?

But I am sure Besson and the other producers will be there and work on the distributor deal.

Maybe it's one of the many side-events, not taking place in the official selection? Like 'Christmas Carol' is. (also not announced, btw)

I sure hope so, cause to be honest ... it's taking too long now. If this movie isn't picked up soon and not able to get shown at more filmfestivals, It's going down. I've seen it many times before, I'm just extremely suprised that there's a possibility this movie (I mean, c'mon!) might be one of those.

Well the books writer says it will be there......................so i'll reserve judgement untill we get more official notification............it may be that it's going to be shown specifically to industry folk and it won't be announced in the film line-ups..............i think Jim etc will be on a marketing drive there................
