Oh no, not again! Paramount Pictures has desided to delay "Ripley's Believe It or Not" until sometime in 2007 or 2008! Director Tim Burton has already choosed another big project "Sweeney Todd". Johnny Depp is in talks to take the lead role.

Last month "Used Guys" was delayed and then cancelled because of budget problems! Tim Burton had already worked on "Ripley's Believe It or Not" for several months and found locations in China and London. Paramount Pictures Chairman Brad Grey decision to rework the script and visual effects sequences with the budget in mind (maximum $150 million). The budget was north of $150 million because Carrey and Burton wanted to make significant creative changes.

This time Paramount executives insist that "Believe It or Not" will go forward in another year.

"We love this project and look forward to making it with Tim and Jim -- just later than originally planned," Paramount production president Gail Berman said.

For someone who believes that angels guide him...it looks like someone is trying to tell him to slow down.

Yea, maybe he should do a low-budget movie in the meantime.

sounds like the whole industry is reacting against ever escalating costs.........not just the actors wages either........but the actual production costs are phenomenally high.........people want bigger and better special effects........i guess the industry needs to get back to basics......a great script and awesome acting can hold a movie together just as well as awesome effects............. .......perhaps Jim can use the time to think about doing his own movie.......
