Ah f**k! If this is true, then it's another opportunity gone past Jim.

Still, Giamatti is a good choice for Larry!

yeah this whole three stooges thing sounded like a FLOP in the beginning. Farrelly Bros. can't get it together so it's a flop. Not exactly Jim's fault for not being Curly.

Aw, I was half expecting this, it is a shame. At least now Jim can move on to something everyone won't expect to flop.

Wtf is going on with Jim and all these canceled roles...

Awful awful news if this is true. It's def gonna be a killer of a movie. Same with The Beaver.

Indeed, after a group of cancelled movies and cancelled roles a few years ago he finally had a line of things that were coming together and now the same thing is happening again.

'Ripley' was a wonderfull project, now it's not half that interesting. 'The Beaver' could have been great with Jim doing it, now he's replaced by Mel Gibson. 'The Three Stooges', whatever those 'fanboys' say, I'm sure those names would make it a solid hit, no doubt. But now he's out?

I realy hoop 'Pierre, Pierre' is still on and 'Ogunn' is a go. And please, please, please, let 'Damn Yankees' stay on track!

Jim's got a pile of projects lined up so he's spoiled for choice.......

That's why we shouldn't be discouraged: Jim's got more movies he's going to do than the ones he's exited. He can keep the bit of weight he gained to say "Believe it or not" instead of "Why sointenly!"

Now that you mentioned it Mhjm6, I've seen a small clip of the real Robert Ripley on VH1 saying his famous phrase. Maybe there's still hope for that Ripley movie after all!

When Jim is running around like that all day (as his wife told) and actually wants to "be fat", you can be sure he was very motivated for the role, no doubt.

I think it's a shame he's not doing this part. Like me, I can see people are very positive about Giamatti coming to the project. Remember how the reactions were when the casting for Andy Kaufman was happening? Everybody hated the idea, Jim was stunning and won (next to a lot of other stuff) a Golden Globe. Giamatti was great in that movie also, would like to see them together again. I'm sure they both would rock.

I never was really the happiest about him doing this film but if it's not for him, it's not for him. I feel bad that he was preparing for it and he didn't get the part tho--if all that is true that is.
