Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz and the director have dropped out of the Focus Features project "A Little Game" according to Reuters.com. Filming was set to begin later this month. It is Jim Carrey's third movie in a row to hit roadblocks... :( :(

"Sources cited problems with the script as the principal reason for the departures. The script was said to have gone in a different direction than the actors expected when they became involved. Muccino wrote the most recent draft.

Several sources said the trio wanted to keep the project's dark tone, while Focus wanted to make a more commercial movie. Focus said Tuesday that it is still planning to make the movie and is looking for a new director."

Dark Tone vs Commercial,
Do they mean Dark Tone like #23 or Dark Tone = Conflict?
Commercial? What does that mean... Comedy? Rediculous????What

I think this could be many things, funny, romantic, fun, marital conflict,
etc. etc, lotsa good stuff? This could be a really good one with
Jim and Cameron, sad to see them out.
Ah, just get Spielberg in there he could fix it.

Jim and Cameron are both very busy people, it's not easy to get them back together again... :?
I mean it's not like they don't want to, they remained good friends, didn't they?

 .....well i admire Jim and Cam for their integrity and belief...if they wanted the dark tone i assume they prefferred a more intellectual, ironic comedy, but the studios wanted the wacky act again......which is crazy....Jim's matured and developed Cam has honed her craft too.....it's not a wacky teen comedy.........the industry needs to take progession into account, people change and develop........they can't expect Ace Ventura aged 80...........(mind you, that might be amusing  ).

fluffy :D

with a more mature, ironic comedy....
note there are more baby boomers than ever....
that audience now needs more atterntion than ever..
focusing on them and comedy in that sector may be beneficial..
as a baby boomer,
wacky OUT,
wild, ironic and whistfully wonderful......and just a wittle bit of wicked fun...... IN
I agree Fluffy.

It's pity...and even irritating ! I haven't seen the french movie but I know that it was a little movie and not a commercial...but like fluffy (if I've understood well what she says :) ) , I respect the fact that big stars like Jim and Cameron dare to refuse a script because it's too commercial...that's really courageous I think and it's maybe too rare. Actors and actress who love a project should do that more often !...I'm proud that Jim reacts this way... but yes, that's pity for us...
