Now confirmed! Morgan Creek is planning a new Ace Ventura movie. Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg (Kingpin) are writing the script.

In the new movie, the eccentric detective's son steps into his father's shoes to take over the family business.

O MY GOD! Just heard the news on Joblo. Okay, when they wanted to do a Mask or Dumb and Dumberere I was dissapointed. But when they do Ace, the one and only with someone else ... I'M PISSED! Nah!

Lol you know what the funny thing is? .... Why on earth would someone wanna remake a movie? - Cause its a realllly great movie! Right???? But then ... they stuff it all up without having the main actor in it. So then the movie loses all meaning *rolls eyes*.

They've admitted that it was a good movie cause they're doing a sequal. SO they knew Jim was good - why not use him? ..... and dont blame it on Jim saying he doesnt like sequals. The directors dont even bother asking him

Never get tired of bashing those silly sequels/spinoffs, they're so pointless that they're almost fascinating!

Ace 3 is going to be a super flop like Son of the Mask & Dumb & Dumberer

quite honestly, despite the fact that i don't like them doing another Jim-spin-off/sequal, i am going to try and remain optimistic about this.

first, the main character is Ace's son....which i think is a smart move b/c if they try to do it with Ace as the lead character, it would spell disaster.

second, those the bashing usually begins when we find out about the movie, i think we should hold back a bit. one, we don't know who is going to be in the movie nor do we know who will direct.

also, i think another reason why these movies keep happening without Jim is more likely b/c of how much he asks per picture. i know it's less then 20 million but production company want someone they can get easily.

lol..........ok i confess.......i liked Dumber and Dumberer.....lol....but i HATED son of the mask.......i'll keep an open mind.......lol

That was exactly my point in my post... but I couldn't spit it out. Jim made all those great movies, now when they re-do them they're gonna be so crap. Therefore when someone says "oh did you like Ace Ventura" people will think of the lastest one and think its all crap! for everyone! If I were Jim i'd be outrageous because.... it's just all crap

well the kick to that is that Ace's son may not even be a kid. He could be all grown up or a teenager.

Lol I liked dumb and dumberer... but dunno if it was as good as the first one. I remember seeing the cover of it and actually thought Jim was staring in it!

it's gonna be the train wreck no one can resist watching....weird how that happens in hollywood. even the vile crap sometimes makes millions.

Exactly! I mean no matter how much I hate Dumb & Dumberer and Son Of The Mask, I still saw them! Didn't pay though, no sire!
Three cartoons series, three sequels, now that's Hollywood!

Whats the point!. All my friends are just going to blame Jim if this film a disaster which it will be, just at the point when I was convincing them that Jim is a good actor.
