What Will He Do Next?

I know I've done things similar to this before, but I kind of wanted to give it an update.

I have no idea what he'll do next (but I will vote, mind you) . I'm just curious as to what you guys think.

He's said he was thinking about possibilities of sequels. Not to mention the reference to Pierre, Pierre in The Cable Guy commentary that could or could not be taken seriously. I don't know guys. It's hard to tell because it doesn't even look like Jim himself knows.

Well, if nothing else this will at least start conversation, :D

By the way, if you vote either of the "other" options, could you state what you had in mind? :D

I voted "Dumb and Dumber". The producer from the first one should be working on it now. Hopefully it will happen. :)

i've put 'other' because it takes so long between films i think Jim might do something else, such as TV work in the interim.......when it comes to movies i honestly don't know now....after all these years i've come to realise that it pays not to take his oncoming listings seriously until he's actually completed filming........Used Guys proved how movies can be pulled at the last sec.......

Fluffy-

Yeah, Used Guys sounded like a good idea too. Especially since it would have reteamed Jim and Ben in a movie.

I'd love to see a Me, Myself & Irene sequel. I think it would be hilarious if Charlie started getting possessed by Hank again.

I'm still hoping he's going to do 'Pierre, Pierre'. But not with Larry Charles (Bruno), I would like to see Jason Reitman (Thank You for Smoking, Up in the Air) returning to the project. Also the other project (forgot the title) involving Alexander Payne (Sideways, About Schmidt) would be great for him in every possible way. Specially when I saw the trailer for 'The Descendants'. He could do wonderfull things with an opportunity like that. Those movies are character-based, have a huge soul, they get out the best of everything involved. And frankly, it's what he needs right now. I'm also thinking Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine), Wes Anderson or (even though I don't like all his movies) Noah Baumbach.

Imo : Since 2005 (and the new agent) Jim hasn't done anything that's ... well ... REALLY exiting. It were all very safe choices. And more than half of the interesting projects got cancelled. I don't know whát happened, but it ain't good. "I Love You Philip Morris" was the only thing that was outside the box but was killed by all the problems and it was a good thing he did something like that, but those directing guys aren't Alexander Payne, it's as simple as that. He had his typical Carrey-flick with 'Popper' and it didn't even score big time. So, imo, he's at this glorious point ánd age he can do everything he wants and doesn't need to claim his status as the king of comedy. Fluck that ... I've said it before and I keep saying it : It's time for a change.

He needs to get bett... well, other projects. He needs a new 'Truman Show', 'Eternal Sunshine' or 'Man on the Moon' and when it comes to comedy, he needs more challenging things ... I even hope there comes a moment where someone like ... dunno ... Tarantino casts him as a villain and Carrey surprises everyone with a creepy performance that's just genious. I know he's able to do that. I'm sure.

And about 'Dumb & Dumber' ... I don't know. I'm sure people will go either : "He's just doing that because he wants to be as big in the '90s, old glory." or "He's to old for that, they should leave a comedy classic like that alone." Somewhere I'm looking forward to a sequel on that ... but comedy has evolved and changed a lot since then ... The original has a huge status, so expectations would be extremely high, in an unfair way even. If he's doing a sequel, I think it should be Ace Venture. Only one, Jim going totaly crazy ... and a very well written one, also.

Steve, I always enjoy reading your opinions and everything you have to say. It's very well thought out every time. And I seem to always agree with you too.
That's all. :)

I think he will do
True,

Historical,

Adventure,

Maybe based on some of his own

Canadian

Roots

Maybe! But some would say How Boring! Others, Hmm, I Wonder.
Most of us have a pretty interesting historical novel waiting to
emerge from with the branches and trunks of our own tree
