Friday estimate numbers:

No. 2 / The Number 23 / $5,858,999 / 1 day (02-23-2007)

That means an opening weekend $16-19m.

We can expect a total of $40-50m. Not the best result.

So it looks like it will gross more than "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Man on the Moon" and "The Majestic".

The best of a fairly unimpressive group of openers this weekend is The Number 23 with $5.8 million.

No surprise that GhostRider will still be #1 but I am surprised that it managed to make #2. I honestly though it would be somewhere between #6- #10. It may have a good opening weekend but I think it'll drop significantly by next weekend.

" Jim Carrey's thriller "The Number 23" fell from second to fifth place in its sophomore scare and collected an estimated $7.1M. Down an understandable 52%, the New Line title has taken in a semi-decent $24.7M in ten days and looks headed for a $35-38M finish."
