I live so far out in the country that public transportation isn't an option.

But....I don't drive an SUV. I think that a lot of Americans are actually interested in fuel-efficiency with their vehicles.

The one thing I've noticed changing lately in this country is that there is an inability to discuss political issues without rancor.

It's unfortunate, because I think that if people on both sides can have a dialogue, they would discover that there's a lot of ground in common, but anything political is a powder keg at the moment.

Probably the big issue in England this year is the fact that we need to decide whether to keep Tony Blair or not.

It is the first time that i will be able to vote, and i am looking forward to voting Mr Blobby sooner than Blair. He's made England look a total shambles!

yeah but we have something called preportional representation and we may well be looking at a hung parliament.....where we have 2 ruling parties and 2 prime ministers who will spend their lives arguing...oh joy.........

I love the UK though...............it's not at all dull and we have a seriously wicked sense of humour...........

Heeeheeee! Sometimes I'm lucky enough to catch the House of Commons on TV! It's fantastic human drama!

It's like "Monty Python" but REAL sometimes!

"Parumph! Would the esteemed Member from Stoke-on-Trent please clarify his remarks regarding the deportment of the Prince of Wales?"

*Boos from chamber*

There is another funny thing about the UK, I think. Some time ago I bought the Scary Movie box in the UK (I ordered it in an online shop) and what did I see? The first two parts are rated 18+ . Hehe, so you have problems with movies that contain sexual content, there, haven't you :D ? It's funny because here in Germany we have no problem with this stuff. But on the other hand it's hard to find brutal movies uncut in Germany. In the UK there are movies like "The Evil Dead" ratet 15+ which are 18+ in Germany....

I have another question for the people living in the USA :D :

In many American movies and series people often go to support groups or to psychatrists. Is that really that common in the USA?

According to the movies and series it looks normal for people in the USA but in Germany it is something hardly anyone does and if you would go to the shrink or to self-help groups people would probably think you are nuts
:D .
