The Incredible Mr. Limpet
Warner Bros. remakes the 1964 comedy that starred Don Knotts as Henry Limpet. In the original, Mr. Limpet, a good but meek fellow turned down by the Navy, dreams of becoming a fish. When his wish comes true, he becomes a Navy hero, helping the U.S. locate Nazi submarines during World War II. In 1964, the aquatic Knotts was an animated cartoon character. In 2000, innovations in animation and special effects technology are sure to update Limpet for the 21st century.

I do remember the Don Knotts movie
Why couldn't they remake it
that he wanted to be a
Navy Merman(with tail and all)
with CG this would not have
to be animated, would it
and have Jim do that one

I still remember some of
those oldie mermaid movies and
loved them, I particualarly
remember one in the 60s that
had a mermaid called Meranda(the actress also played in Mary Poppins)

Great article, very interesting. From what I see, i can only agree with Brad Bird. That looks terrible and the idea to create a fish with the face of Jim Carrey sucked. If there's one person in this buisiness that knows, it's Bird. My favorite animation-director. Love the guy for making Ratatouille, The Incredibles and above all The Iron Giant.
